Through our union with Christ, we now have Christ's generosity by acquiring Christ's riches from his impoverishment. Seeking to express our newly gained generosity of Christ is not a preference, but an identity. If being generous like Christ is our identity, then comprehensive personal financial planning becomes a tool for expressing and enjoying our new identity. Thoughtful and wise financial planning around saving, credit, and budgeting can all serve this greater purpose to show who we are to the world. A new model, the Sea of Galilee model, will be introduced as a visualization of how the process of personal financial planning can incorporate our union with Christ.
