Generosity is core to a Christian understanding of money because Christian faith is centered on grace, an undeserved gift. Yet do we think about giving away money to charities as more "Christian" than other forms of generosity? Jeff Haanen, the Founder of Denver Institute for Faith & Work, will share about the development of the generosity movement, the faith and work movement, and the faith-motivated investing movement and how we've inadvertently prized money given to charities as having more "kingdom impact" than generous uses of capital. Haanen offers suggestions for language and practice around all of our clients' resources being "kingdom-oriented," whether skills, time, money given, money spent, money invested, or money deployed in a business.
Jeff Haanen is the Founder of Denver Institute for Faith & Work, an educational organization that creates content and experiences around topics related to faith, work, and modern culture.
