Drawing on the grand narrative of Scripture, this session will explore how God might see the purpose and practice of business. Why does business matter to God? As a business pursues godly purposes, what limits should it respect? And as financial advisors, how might your advice help your clients align their investing with God’s great designs for our world?
Jeff Van Duzer – Before retiring in 2019, Jeff served in various leadership roles at Seattle Pacific University for approximately 20 years. He now continues to serve as a consultant to SPU, to teach as an adjunct, and to write on a theology of business. Jeff also recently reinstated his law license with the goal of providing pro bono services to underserved populations. His book, Why Business Matters to God, was released during his tenure as Dean of the School of Business at SPU. Before coming to SPU, Jeff was a partner with the international law firm of Davis Wright Tremaine where he practiced for more than 20 years.
