Jim Whiddon Founder, Author, Adjunct Professor

Jim Whiddon, CFP®, MSFS, founded JWA Financial Group, Inc. in Dallas, TX, and served as CEO for 28 years before his firm was acquired in a merger in 2013. He then launched “The Old School,” a professional development and consulting firm specializing in exceptional personal skills and mentoring systems for college programs, young professionals, and corporate executives. Jim’s work has been quoted or seen in more than 350 publications and national media outlets, including Fortune, the Wall Street Journal, and CNBC. Jim is also an adjunct instructor in the Financial Planning program at Texas A&M and the author of five books, including his latest, The Mentor, released in September 2019.
